Where You Can Find Delicious Banh Mi’s Right In U.City; This Is The Banh Mi Shop

Hey everyone and welcome back! I recently did a solo food adventure for lunch and being that I wanted to try something different, I went to The Banh Mi Shop. Now what is a Banh Mi you ask? It’s a Vietnamese sandwich that is made with a toasted baguette and it is filled with a variety of ingredients like mayo or aioli, pickled vegetables, some type of meat (tofu, beef, pork, or chicken ) and peppers. I have never had a banh mi before and being that I have heard so many great things about The Bahn Mi Shop, I just had to stop by.

I definitely made the right decision because the food at The Bahn Mi Shop was so good! On top of that, I met the owner Jimmy and he is such a dope guy. We chatted about everything from my blog, local food favorites, and about how he came to open The Bahn Mi Shop.

It was also really cool learning about the history of his family and how they started their own restaurant business after they immigrated here from Vietnam. A story filled with humble beginnings, perserverence, family, tradition, love, and of course food. I have a lot of appreciation on how he is keeping those family traditions alive while also putting his own spin on traditional Vietnamese dishes.

Now that you have a little bit of The Banh Mi Shop background, let’s get into these dishes shall we? First things first is drinks and I have two words for you. Lychee Lemondae. No lie, this is probably some of THE best lemonade that I have ever had. It’s so fresh and refreshing and I literally said wow after the first sip. lol The Banh Mi Shop Lychee Lemonade definitely needs to be bottled and be sold on shelves everywhere because it’s that good.

I ordered the Lemongrass Spring Rolls and my bahn mi choice was the BBQ Pork. I’m glad that I came super hungry because I had no idea that bahn mi’s were so big and their springs rolls are huge! The BBQ Pork bahn mi is made with char siu pork belly and it’s topped with pickled daikon, carrots, cilantro, jalapeños, cucumber, and a housemaid aioli.

Ya’ll..this pork belly?!?! It was so juicy, tender and all of those ingredients combined make for one awesome flavor combination. I remember thinking that I was just going to eat half there and then the other half at home but I was clearly doing nothing but lying to myself. There was literally nothing left but crumbs after I was through and I am not ashamed. 😂

The Lemongrass Chicken Spring Rolls were also super delicious. Besides chicken, the spring rolls are also filled with rice noodle, mixed greens, mint and it’s rolled in rice paper. You also get this really tasty peanut sauce to dip them in. If you thought I had any left over to take home, then you would be wrong. lol These spring rolls were everything!

If you haven’t been to The Banh Mi Shop yet, then you are doing your stomach a disservice. You can tell that they put a lot of love into their food and the hospitality was just excellent. I will absolutely be returning to The Banh Mi Shop in the near future to try out some more of their dishes and to get some more of that lychee lemonade. I appreciate you guys for tuning into today’s post and I hope you have a great weekend!

Until next time loves…

XO
