A Taste Of Hawaiian Cuisine Right In The Delmar Loop; This Is PokeDoke 🐠

Hey everyone and welcome back. So my friend Tyeler and I were having a girls night and for dinner we wanted to try somewhere new and decided on PokeDoke. PokeDoke (pronounced Poh-kay, Doh-kay) is the first restaurant in St. Louis to serve Poke. Poke means “to slice or cut” In Hawaiian and a Poke Bowl is packed with rice and it’s topped with vegetables and some type of protein. They usually come with chunks of marinated fish like tuna but at PokeDoke, there are lots of different choices to pick from.

I ordered the King Maui Moa Bowl a drink, and some mochi donuts. The King Maui Moa Bowl is filled with white rice that is topped with sweet Asian chicken, pineapple, shredded carrots, purple cabbage, green onions and sesame seeds. I also got some spicy mayo to drizzle on top and ya’ll…

This King Maui Moa Bowl was full of flavor and drizzling some spicy mayo made it even more delicious. PokeDoke has a variety of fountain soda so I got some Orange Crush and I also finally got to try some mochi donuts! I have been wanting to try some mochi donuts for so long and I was thrilled when I found out that PokeDoke sold some.

If you don’t know what a mochi donut is, it’s a sweet Japanese snack that is made up of a glutinous rice flour which gives the donut a chewier texture. Omg they were so good and fluffy! I ordered three mochi donuts (2 strawberry and 1 chocolate) and they were both good but the strawberry ones were definitely my favorite.

Tyeler ordered their Sweet Chili wings and some of their gyozas. She absolutely loved what she ordered and I got to try some of the gyozas (which are pork btw) and they were really good too. Everything was freshly made to order and absolutely delicious.

I have been wanting to come to PokeDoke for awhile and I’m so glad I stopped in because the food here is everything! The hospitality at PokeDoke was also great and we will definitely be back to try some other items on their menu. If you have ever wanted to try a Poke before, then PokeDoke is the place for you.

Thanks for tuning in and until next time loves…

XO
