Hey everyone and happy Friday! So recently my friend Carmen and I had a girls night and we went to Brasilia for dinner. I have been wanting to come here for a long time and I was so excited to finally try some authentic Brazilian dishes. Brasilia is located in the heart of South Grand and as soon as you walk in, you instantly feel like you’ve been transported.
Samba music fills the air and the detailed decor has a little bit of everything from Brazilian roots including the signature blue, yellow, and green colors, and a huge painting of Christ The Redeemer. Head Chef Jorge Carvalho is a native of Mines Gerias, Brazil and him and his wife Rachel opened up Brasilia in September of 2015. Ya’ll, the food at Brasilia is incredible! Let’s get into these dishes shall we?
Up first was appetizers and drinks. Carmen ordered the Sangria ($6.95) and I ordered a Brazilian cocktail called a Batida ($7.95) and I got the Passion Fruit flavor. In Portuguese Batida means milkshake and no lie, it is probably one of the best cocktails that I’ve ever had. It was so creamy and fruity and as soon as I got home, I looked up how to make my own. lol
For appetizers, we both ordered some Pastels (which are thin crispy filled pastries) and I got them in chicken and beef and Carmen had her in cheese and beef. ($2.95) The meat was seasoned perfectly and they were fried to a golden brown perfection. They were absolutely delicious! We also ordered some of their Pão de queijo (Brazilian cheese bread) and they were really good too.
For our entrée’s, Carmen chose the Filet Dom Pedro with a side of mashed potatoes ($35.95) and I had the Frango Ao Molho Branco ($16.95). The Dom Pedro has two medallion filets cooked to your preference and topped with a red wine mushroom cream sauce. It’s also served over toasted garlic parmesan French bread.
The Frango Ao Molho Branco is made of grilled chicken breast topped in white wine cream sauce and it was also served with rice and vegetables. The meats were seasoned and cooked perfectly and those greens!? Man oh man were they delicious! Ya’ll, the food at Brasilia…
I loved everything about dining at Brasilia. Our waiter Gary was the best and very knowledgeable of the menu and the hospitality was amazing. I haven’t been to Brazil (yet) but I have always wanted to go and now that I’ve tasted their food, I gotta make that trip happen asap. lol If you haven’t been to Brasilia yet, highly recommend that you check them out because I guarantee that you won’t be disappointed.
Até a próxima amores… (Until next time loves in Portuguese)
