My love for empanadas are real and the empanadas at Tango are absolutely delicious. Not only are the empanadas delicious, but I also met one of the owners and Mrs. Stella is just the sweetest! Her and her husband Hector (a.k.a. “The Empanada Man”) are from Argentina so everything is super authentic. I even learned that the dough and the spices that they use are even imported from Argentina.
The dough that Tango uses is so buttery and flaky and the filling is just super flavorful. I ordered the spicy beef and the spicy chicken empanada and it took everything in me not to order 4 more. lol They were so good! The empanadas were freshly made to order and they were the perfect size.
Do you see all of that flavor?! 😩🙌🏽 I’m telling you.. these are the best empanadas in STL. Tango has been serving authentic empanadas in St, Louis and the surrounding areas since 2000 and I can totally see why they were St. Louis’s A- List Reader’s Choice Awards finalist in 2022.
I really enjoyed talking with Mrs. Stella while my food was being made as well because I went to Buenos Aires some years back and I absolutely loved it there. Her and I discussed the pictures on Tango’s wall and they were places that I also visited while in Argentina.
If you’re an empanada lover like myself, then you should definitely stop by Tango. I promise that your stomach will thank you for it.
